Cross Country Skiing & Snow Shoeing – on property and around town
Evergreen Resort rents cross country skis and snow shoes for use on our 327 acres.
Snowmobile Trails – 0-100 Miles
Evergreen golf course opens to the White Pine Trail. Bring your own sled or we can help you rent one and hit the trails a blazing. Cadillac offers hundreds over 300 miles of trails that will surely peak your interest.
White Pine Trail – 1 Mile
Formerly an abandoned railroad track that extends 92 miles from Cadillac to Grand Rapids and intersects the Pere Marquette Trail. Most of this trail is paved and is a non-motorized trail that is open year round. One caveat, snowmobiles are allowed as long as there is a minimum of 6” of snow on the trail.
Lake Cadillac Bike Path – 4 Miles
A seven mile path that boarders Lake Cadillac
Keith McKellop Walkway - 4 Miles
Located downtown Cadillac on the shores of Lake Cadillac and is great for walking, jogging and in-line skating.
Caberfae Peaks – 20 Miles
Best downhill skiing in Michigan. Home to some of Michigan's biggest vertical and longest runs. Caberfae Peaks offers 34 runs, 6 lifts and night skiing. Best of all, our downhill ski packages always include Caberfae Peaks lift tickets!
Golf – 1-20 Miles
While we offer great a great golf experience at Evergreen Resort, we know you may want to try your skill at another course while you stay with us. There are 9 golf courses located within 20 miles of our location. Evergreen partners with most of the courses so please ask us about special offers.
Fish Lakes Cadillac and Mitchell – 4 Miles
Lakes Cadillac and Mitchell have large populations of walleye, northern pike, crappie, bluegills, perch, largemouth and smallmouth bass. The two lakes are connected by a canal built during the northern Michigan logging era. Together Lakes Cadillac and Mitchell offer over 3,700 acres of prime fish holding habitat. Lake Cadillac is approximately 1,120 acres in size and features over 400 acres of prime fish-holding weed cover. A fertile body of water, 50 percent of the lake is 15-feet deep or less.
Chippewa Landing – 15 Miles
Rents canoes, rafts, kayaks and tubes for use on the Manistee River. The full service canoe livery has been around for 40 years and offers transportation downstream to your waiting vehicle upstream. The Manistee River is great for floating and offers many sand bars for swimming.
Wilderness Canoe Trips – 25 Miles
Canoe, Kayak, raft and tube rentals for a trip down the Big Manistee River. Open Memorial Day through Labor Day weekend. Transportation provided.
Horina Canoe & Kayak Rental - 25 Miles
Canoe and Kayak rentals on the Pine River. Open May 1 - Labor Day.
Pine River Paddlesports Center – 25 Miles
Rents canoes, kayaks and rubber rafts on the Pine and Manistee Rivers. They also rent Mountain Bikes and a climbing wall.

HISTORICAL AND WILDLIFE
Wexford County Historical Museum – 4 Miles
5,000 square feet of history surrounding Wexford County including maps, photographs, artifacts, paintings and documents dating back to 1870.
Historical Downtown Walking Tour – 4 Miles
Go on a self-guided tour of Downtown Cadillac to see the Charles T. Mitchell House, Cobbs-Mitchell Office, Cobbs-Mitchell Mill No. 1, Shay Locomotive, Clam Lake Canal, First Wexford County Courthouse and the Battle of Manton Site. Maps are available at the Historical Museum.
Shay Steam Locomotive – 4 Miles
Located downtown Cadillac in City Park. This locomotive was invented in the 1800’s for the logging industry by Ephraim Shay who populized the concept of geared steam locomotive.
Carl T Johnson Hunting and Fishing Center and Wildlife Viewing – 5 Miles
The Center exhibits the history of hunting and fishing in Michigan and offers a wall-sized freshwater aquarium. The wetlands, nestled between Lakes Mitchell and Cadillac, are great for viewing Michigan’s wildlife including mallards, herons, red-tailed hawks, beavers, deer and turtles. A scenic 2-mile hiking trail encircles the marsh complete strategically placed plaques that offer plant and animal facts along the way. An elevated observation platform overlooks the entire wetland. Fishing is allowed from a designated fishing pier.
Caberfae Scenic Overlook – 20 Miles
Created by the US Forest Service offering panoramic views of Michigan’s natural beauty and a great location to view fall colors. The observation deck is ADA Compliant.
Adventure Island – 4 Miles
Offers 18 holes of Mountain Putt-Putt Golf with waterfalls and caves, Go Kart Track, batting cages, bumper boats, video arcade games and outdoor Waterpark. Open Memorial Day through Labor Day.
The Wexford Civic Center – 4 Miles
Public ice skating available every Saturday and Sunday from 2pm – 4pm during the ice skating season. The rest of the year the auditorium offers craft shows, business expos and concerts.
The Pines Bowling Center– 4 Miles
Full service sports center with over 30 big screen TV's, DJ, dancing, darts, pool, bowling and Pizza Pub. Monthly live acts & musicians. Also on property are two full size softball fields. Tournaments hosted throughout the year.

Harrietta State Fish Hatchery – 18 Miles
The State of Michigan’s oldest state hatchery, opened in 1901, rearing rainbow and brown trout. Take a stroll along the self-guided outdoor trail and learn about the history of fish hatcheries, Ecosystems and see the various stages of hatching from the indoor tank room. The hatchery is free to the public. Visitor hours are weekdays from 8:30am – 4pm and weekends from 8:30am – 3:30pm (hours many change).
BEACHES AND PICNICING
Kenwood Park - 5 Miles
On Lake Cadillac, features a shallow water beach with a large kid's playground. There is a lifeguard on duty during the summer. There's even a Frisbee golf course on grounds.
Mitchell State Park – 5 Miles
Mitchell State Park has a nice kid's playground with grills and covered picnic tables, sandy beaches, volleyball courts and hiking trails. Mitchell State park does require a state park sticker, or pay a daily user's fee.
